Open the job, tap the timer, get to work. Tap it again when you're done and Werkly logs the start time, end time, and total hours, so you don't need a stopwatch app running alongside your actual job.
Only one timer runs at a time, because you're only ever on one job at a time. Mark the job done and any running timer stops automatically, so nothing keeps billing hours after the truck has left.
One thing it doesn't do: track where you are. No GPS, no geofencing, no location breadcrumb. Werkly logs what you worked, not where you stood while you did it. If you're the only one on the job, you already know where that was.
Manual & Editable Entries
Forgot to start the timer? Add the hours yourself
Some jobs start before your phone comes out of your pocket. Add the hours after the fact, with a note if you want one. You don't need a timer for it.
Every entry, timed or manual, sits in a list on the job alongside your notes and photos, so the whole job (hours worked, what you saw, what you shot) lives in one place.
Mis-tapped the stop button? Open the entry and fix it. Edit or delete any entry after the fact without redoing the whole day.
That's the point of keeping hours inside the job instead of a separate timesheet app: when you sit down to invoice at the end of the week, the hours are already where the job is, not scattered across other apps you'd have to cross-reference. It's the same reason Werkly is built for a business of one: less software, not more.
Billing Style & Rounding
Bill it the way you actually price it
Set each job to Hourly or Fixed price. Hourly jobs bill your tracked time at your rate. Fixed-price jobs show a live effective hourly rate so you can see if a bid was actually worth it.
Tracked time can't quietly inflate a fixed-price invoice. The invoice shows the price you agreed to, not the hours you logged.
Set a rounding rule once (to the minute, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or the full hour) and an optional minimum charge, so a quick trip across town still bills fairly.
Track as much time as you want, on Free or Pro. Time tracking isn't capped the way jobs-per-month or photos-per-job are.

Your hours become an invoice line automatically
You don't retype anything or re-add the hours.
Create an invoice for an hourly job and your tracked hours show up as an editable Labor line item, priced at your rate. This just saves you the re-entry.
It's the same invoice you were already going to send. The hours just show up on it instead of living in a separate app you'd have to copy numbers out of.
That's the whole path: clock out, open the invoice, and the Labor line is already there. You don't re-add the hours or double-check your math against a second app.

Does Werkly have a time clock for contractors?
Yes. Each job has a one-tap timer: tap to start it when you arrive, tap again to stop it when you leave. Only one timer runs at a time.
Do my tracked hours automatically show up on the invoice?
Yes. Creating an invoice for an hourly job adds an editable Labor line item based on your tracked hours and rate, so you're not re-typing numbers from one app to another.
Can I track time on a fixed-price job too?
Yes. Every job is set to Hourly or Fixed price. Fixed-price jobs show your effective hourly rate instead of billing by tracked time, so tracked hours can't inflate a fixed-price invoice.
Does the timer track my GPS location?
No. Werkly has no location tracking or geofencing. It's a simple tap-to-start, tap-to-stop timer. It logs what you worked, not where you were. That's the split between this and a crew-tracking platform, which is laid out in Werkly vs Jobber.
Does the timer work with no cell signal on the job site?
Your saved jobs, notes, photos, and hours are viewable with no signal. Starting or stopping the timer, or adding a new entry, needs a connection for now. Catch it up once you're back in range. Full offline tracking isn't built yet, but it's on the roadmap.
