A tile job is rarely one flat number. A straight-lay floor prices differently than a mosaic accent, and a niche or a pattern change is its own line, not something absorbed into the square footage. Werkly's estimate is editable line items, not a fixed formula, so a per-square-foot base rate, a mosaic row at a higher rate, and a backer-board line sit next to each other instead of getting blended into one number the client can't check.
Materials and labor stay on their own lines too. Tile, thinset, and grout price separately from setting and grouting labor, so a client can see what they're paying for instead of pushing back on one lump figure.
Need a deposit before you order a client's tile? Write it on the estimate as a note, something like "50% deposit due before material is ordered." Werkly doesn't calculate or collect that deposit for you. It's a line you type, not a number the app works out.
Every estimate has a real lifecycle: draft, then sent, then accepted or declined. Accept it and Werkly carries the price over to the job, ready for when the work starts.

Build the invoice from the same job, with tax applied per line item and a document-level discount if you're knocking something off. Every invoice numbers itself.
On Pro, pick up to 10 job photos, put them in your own order, and they print right on the invoice PDF with their captions. That means the membrane photo, the one piece of evidence a floor won't leak, can ride along on the same document that asks to be paid, not sit alone in a camera roll.
Tile software doesn't usually put a job photo on the billing document itself. With Werkly, a client gets a bill with the proof attached, not just a number.

A tile job's stages are natural billing checkpoints. Werkly tracks the running balance across all of them.
A deposit before material's ordered, something partway through, the rest at grout. Record each of those as a payment against the invoice, and Werkly tracks paid-to-date and a real balance, not just a paid or unpaid flag. There's no formal milestone or phase-billing tool built in. A contractor billing in stages can do it with partial payments, recording one as each stage wraps.
It only says PAID IN FULL when the balance actually hits zero. Cash, check, Zelle, Venmo, however it comes in, you record it.

- You price the tile job you've already measured. Werkly doesn't run coverage, box-count, or takeoff math, so square footage, mosaic upcharges, thinset, and grout quantities are lines you price yourself.
- Deposits and staged billing run on notes and partial payments today. Write the deposit terms on the estimate, then record each payment, prep, waterproofing, setting, grout, against the invoice's running balance. Online payments and a hosted approve-online page aren't built yet. They're on the roadmap, so tell us if that's the one holding you back.
- You run your own calendar and books alongside Werkly for now. Scheduling, recurring jobs, and QuickBooks sync aren't built yet, though all three are planned.
- One person, one login, that's the model. A paid helper on a bigger tile job is completely fine, they just don't get their own app access.
- On the iPhone, no signal doesn't stop you: saved jobs, notes, and photos are all still there to view. Adding or editing something new needs a connection.
If your week is estimate, tile it, invoice it, get paid, none of that gets in the way. If your tile business runs a crew or needs booked-ahead scheduling, Werkly isn't the right fit today.

Is there an invoicing app made for tile contractors?
Yes. Werkly is one job record per project, however many days prep, waterproofing, setting, and grouting take, with editable line-item estimates, tracked hours, tagged photos, and invoices that can carry those photos on the actual document. Does the app calculate tile quantity, box count, or square footage for me?
No, and that's worth knowing before you download it. Werkly has no coverage or takeoff calculator. Estimates are line items you price yourself, per square foot, per niche, per mosaic, or flat, not numbers the app works out for you.
Can I charge more for mosaics, niches, or pattern work?
Yes. Add whatever upcharge line the job needs. A straight-lay base rate and a mosaic or niche premium sit as separate, editable line items on the same estimate, instead of getting blended into one number.
Should I photograph the waterproofing membrane before I set tile?
Worth doing on every job. Tag it as a Before or Progress photo on the job record, and on Pro it can go straight onto the invoice or estimate the client sees, not just sit in your camera roll. It's the one piece of proof that exists before the floor makes it unverifiable for good.
Can I collect a deposit before ordering custom or mosaic tile?
You can note a deposit amount on the estimate, something like "50% due before material is ordered," but Werkly doesn't calculate or collect it online. You collect it however you already do, then record it as a payment on the invoice, where Werkly tracks the running balance.
Can I bill a tile job in stages, prep, set, grout?
